WARP Summit

South Korea, Sept. 17. (BNA) – The World Peace Summit, organised by the World Alliance of Religions for Peace (WARP) and hosted by the Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL, Chairman Man Hee Lee), kick-started here today, with the participation of leading politicians, major religious figures from all faiths, and women and youth activists from about twelve countries.
The opening ceremony took place at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium, in the presence of a crowd of 250,000 people.

Participants and VIP guests were treated to a spectacular performance depicting the underlying philosophy of the Heavenly Culture with the theme of The World as One.

Chairman of the Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) Man Hee Lee delivered a speech at the opening session, in which he thanked all the delegations for participating in the event aiming to foster global peace.

He called on the audience to propose an International Declaration of Peace, to be ratified by all countries.

Chairwoman of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Nam Hee Kim said that peace could be promoted through reinforcing democracy and justice in all countries.

She called on media persons to cover events transparently in order to project the real image to the world.

The President of the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy Emil Constantinescu said that the event was held at a time when various countries were suffering from wars and conflicts, calling for the need to take advantage of the summit to agree on mechanisms to enhance global peace.
