Ever since its launch, the Legislate Peace Campaign has called on global leaders and citizens to voice their positive demand for the implementation of a law based upon the principles of the DPCW. As the campaign to receive the signatures of support through advocacy meetings continues to positively influence and empower the younger generations, we are getting one step closer to developing the DPCW into a legally binding document with peace as the core principle of international relations.

Present the Republic of South Sudan which has hurting hearts and scathing tears of blood.
Black sky, black smoke, fire and the sound of gunfire which are  burst through black smoke,
The Republic of South Sudan became independent from Sudan on year of 2011. At the end of 2013, followers of current president, “Salva Kiir” and former president “Riek Machar” had conflicts and became a civil war followed by thousands of casualties and 2,200,000 of refugees at least.
And, on July 2016, 2nd civil war have been provoked at Juba which is the capital of South Sudan starting with sanguinary collision.
Especially, in the area of Equatoria, southern South Sudan, while pillage, rape, murder and demolition have been performed by government forces, more than 100,000 refugees were claimed within a month. Among those people, 75,000 refugees have moved to Uganda Adjumani refugee camp.
The entire village which was peaceful were becoming chaos after gun firing
Children’s crying out loud and families being covered with blood, they were holding each other and wailing!
It was literally Pandemonium and people were screaming for it.
The beautiful sunset and green field with peanuts and corns ripening looked like a masterpiece. However, it became bothering landscape when people are under urgent situation not knowing when and how to confront the death. When evacuation order was issued, there were a line of refugees and villagers became refugees all of sudden.
Refugees camp are under situation which are tremendously lacking of medicine and food by geometrically increased refugees. Lots of refugees are being suffered from hunger, cold weather, and disease.
When a large number of villagers escaping, cultivated crops has left behind. In the result of abandoning, the Republic of South Sudan is facing multiplied difficulties which is hopeless severe famine added up.
When the truck supplying water and porridge arrived, people are in line to draw their rations. However, the supply which is not enough is running out quick.
The people of the Republic of South Sudan who are worrying about daily food to survive and hoping the cessation of war…
Until the day comes which anxiety, despair, hunger and gunfire end…

HWPL declared ‘Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW)’ which contents 10 articles and 38 clauses on Mar. 14, 2016. HWPL is outstanding peace organization founded by Lee Man Hee who was a crucial middleman to end 40 years of civil war in Philippine, Mindanao which was the most conflicted area in Asia
Furthermore, HWPL is urging people to sign up in order to legislate DPCW to UN.

 Legislate Peace Campaign & the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW)

The Legislate Peace Campaign is a global peace advocacy movement which aims to bring all wars to an end and spread a culture of peace by establishing an enforceable law compatible with the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW). The strength of the DPCW lies in its representation of the voice of all those yearning for peace and calls on States to protect their rights to enjoy peaceful lives.

There was ‘Legislate Peace Campaign’ to support the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War(DPCW) proclaimed by Heavenly Culture World Peace restoration of Light(HWPL) in 2 major cities in Yemen in the first half of 2016.

International Peace Youth Group(IPYG) and International Women’s Peace Group(IWPG) took charge of International Law Peace Committee. The youth and women got 3908 signatures only in Yemen.

57 youth voluntarily went out and had Legislate Peace Campaign to make the DPCW a legally binding instrument last May in Taiz, the second biggest city in Yemen. They got 1608 signatures.

After this event Ghazwa Saeed Al-Absi, the founder of Yemeni youth organization named Engaging Youth for Peace(EYP) and International Law Peace Committee member, said, “we will fight for peace with our last breath.”

32 women, including Arfat shraf, the head of human rights and relief team of Al Agatha put their signatures in HWPL international law workshop held in Ibb, the city famous for its beautiful landscape.

They said, “Legislate Peace Campaign will be actively run to protect Yemeni youth as mothers who protect their children from wars and create peace.”

‘Legislate Peace Campaign’ which HWPL is focusing on is the international peace signature campaign for the cessation of war. After proclaiming the DPCW the youth and women from all over the world initiated International Law Peace Committee and brought participation from various sectors for a short time. There is much attention to peace achievements made by Yemeni women and youth who proclaim peace in spite of a difficult situation.

250,000 unite to voice their positive demands for peace by adding their signatures
Seoul, Republic of Korea – The World Peace Gate in Seoul’s Olympic Park is expected to be filled with vibrant young people from all across Korea and from overseas for the upcoming 3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace and Peace Walk on 25 May 2016.

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), a UN DPI registered non-governmental organization, will host the event in Seoul together with the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) and International Peace Youth Group (IPYG).
Ecuador Earthquake Relief Donation Booths will be set up to call for united actions among youth to care for people of Ecuador in their time of need.

Just last year, over 200,000 people showed their commitment for peace by participating in HWPL peace walks in 50 cities held in 30 countries simultaneously, igniting the flame of peace in the hearts of many.

This year’s commemorative event is expected to host more than 250,000 people from across the globe.

The event will highlight the global peace advocacy movement, the Legislate Peace Campaign, recently launched to bring all wars to an end by establishing an enforceable law compatible with the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).

Drafted by the HWPL International Law Peace Committee and proclaimed on March 14th this year the DPCW has steadily received the public’s attention.

It represents the voices of all those yearning for peace and urges States to protect their citizen’s rights to enjoy peaceful lives.

The Legislate Peace Campaign calls on global citizens to unite as one to voice their positive demands for peace by adding their signatures.

World leaders and governments are also being called on to make and enforce a national law based on the principles of the DPCW.

HWPL International lawMany heads of state have written letters of support for the DPCW and over 190,000 signatures from 152 countries have been collected through on and offline platforms worldwide in less than two months.

Marking the 3rd anniversary of its proclamation, the Declaration of World Peace has seen its fruit through the DPCW as the document states: “Of what use is a young life, born in our day and age, if it is thrown away in this manner – thrown away without having had a chance to bloom? What price can compensate for the loss of a life? … In whatever way you can, we ask that you work to further the cause of world peace and restoration, making it a reality in your direct environments.”

In hundreds of cities, including Sydney, New York City, Manila, Shanghai, Cape Town and Oakland; youth, women, and all citizens will march for peace, replacing a culture of war with a culture of peace.

legislate peace campaignarchers gathered at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa on Saturday as part of the third annual commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace.

Volunteers at the peace walk collected petition signatures supporting a Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War, which proposes an international initiative to draft a legally binding document for all nations to adopt promoting a culture of peace with the goal to end all wars. It includes provisions aimed at “resolving conflicts, reducing war potential and repurposing weapons to benefit humanity, according to proponent Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, or HWPL, an organization based in Seoul, South Korea.
Similar peace walks occurred in 52 countries, organizers said.

According to HWPL, the petition had more than 500,000 signatures from 154 countries as of May 25. The number is expected to reach 2 million by the end of the year, the group said.

peacewalkEver since the 14th of March, when The Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War was proclaimed, in New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) Peace Advocacy Committees had their opening ceremonies to actively urge for the implementation of an enforceable international law to bring a full stop to all conflicts. Also at Mumbai metropolitan majistrate court, Samsara school, Great Valley School, Modern School Noida, Mand Kaushalya Global the Complete School were gathered over 10,000 supportive signatures with the participation of a number of organizations.

On 25th May, 300,000 people gathered simultaneously in hundreds of cities including Seoul, New York City, Sydney, and Shanghai for the 3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace: Legislate Peace Campaign hosted by HWPL in their respective time zones.

Especially, at these days events, there were booths installed to fund-raise for countries which were prone to severe natural disasters. HWPL, IWPG, IPYG, and citizens were continuously putting hands together to help those who are suffering from Sri Lanka flood and a severe outcome caused by earthquakes in Ecuador that happened recently.

Seoul, Republic of Korea – What can draw 300,000 people to gather simultaneously across hundreds of cities?

On 25 May 2016, vibrant people yearning for peace eagerly streamed at the World Peace Gate in Seoul Olympic Park for the 3rd Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace, an internationally celebrated event to commemorate the proclamation of the Declaration of World Peace presented by the Chairman of HWPL on 25 May 2013.

“Today, marking the 3rd anniversary, at this very moment, our family of peace must have their attention focused on this place…What we should leave to the future generations is the common good of mankind – peace. There is no greater legacy than peace and it is not achieved by just one person. Therefore, we all must become messengers of peace,” said HWPL Chairman Lee in his commemorative address.

International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) Director Du Hyen Kimsaid, “This particular year, 105 peace walks will be held in 52 nations…To all the youth in attendance today in order to complete this goal there are certain qualities we all should posses. The first is a Firm Belief in what we do. The second is a Leader whom we can trust and follow. The third is our friends who we walk this path on together. Do you have these qualities?”

According to HWPL, as of May 25th, the collected signatures have exceeded 500,000 from 154 countries in less than two months, and many heads of state have written official letters of support for the DPCW. The number of signatures is expected to reach 2,000,000 by the end of this year.

Joshua Muse, a student at the University of Mississippi, said at an interview, “This movement is bringing all different cultures together. Seeing the signatures (Legislate Peace Campaign) is being completed all these different countries is something that we have never imagined. The (collected) signatures are the examples, are the symbol of the agreement of all these countries coming together under one mind of peace.”

Throughout the event, Ecuador Earthquake Relief Donation booths were set up to respond to the needs of the Ecuadorian people. Ambassador Jorge ICAZA, Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General of Ecuador in Korea, addressed in his congratulatory remarks, “I avail myself of this opportunity to give my sincere thanks to HWPL for preparing this Peace Walk in solidarity with my country which is being affected by this natural disaster. I am sure that your kind activity of love and peace will become a message of hope to the Ecuadorian people.”

All donations made during this event will be donated to Ecuador through the Embassy of Ecuador to Korea. Thousands of peace advocates take part in signature campaign for law against war

Over 300,000 people gathered simultaneously in hundreds of cities including in Seoul, New York City, Sydney and Shanghai for the third annual commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace on Wednesday.
The event near the World Peace Gate at the Seoul Olympic Park in South Korea’s capital attracted a huge number of peace advocates to sign the Legislate Peace Campaign, which was launched recently to bring all wars to an end by establishing an enforceable law compatible with the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, and the Restoration of Light (HWPL) said in a press release.

This year’s commemoration highlighted the global peace advocacy movement that includes provisions aimed at resolving conflicts, reducing war potential, repurposing weapons to benefit humanity and inviting all citizens to participate in the active promotion of a lasting culture of peace, it said.
