“The Greatest Peace Prize…”
Man Hee Lee Peace Quotes

Mr. Man Hee Lee, Chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) said like this,

The greatest peace prize is peace on Earth and this is the legacy that we should leave to our future generations.

This will become the peace prize that will pave the way to the peaceful lives of humanity. I would like to accept this prize as a lesson that keeps me going for the work of peace,

said Chairman Lee during his acceptance speech.

There is nothing greater or of greater value in than peace work. This work will be a glory remembered forever in the history of mankind.

All current heads of state, those who love their country, their people, and peace, should then sign this international law.

People live by the light, rain, and air provided by heaven. Having received this grace of life, they then kill one another in wars, instead of loving and protecting each other.

When religions, which have all become corrupt, offer themselves to the true God and unite under the Creator, then the conflicts between these religions will be resolved, and world peace will be achieved.

Envisioning A World Without Armed Conflicts, Filipino Lawyers in IBP to establish Peace Committee

South Cotabato, Philippines – The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) has established an exclusive Peace Committee to take united action towards making the nation free from conflicts. In order to support the practical initiatives suggested by UN DPI NGO, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), the IBP has inaugurated a total of 93 lawyers (9 Board of Governors and 84 regional representative lawyers) as members of HWPL National Committee on Peace in IBP. The lawyers were also appointed as HWPL Publicity Ambassadors. The IBP is an official organization of all Filipino lawyers whose names appear in the Roll of Attorneys of the Supreme Court.

For the inauguration ceremony, IBP President Atty. Rosario T. Setias-Reyes, an active member of the HWPL Advisory Council, extended special invitations to the South Korean Peace Delegation: Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL and Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG). The two Chairpersons will serve as advisory members to the HWPL National Committee on Peace in IBP. Atty. Jose I. De La Rama, Jr. will serve as the head of the Committee while he continues to serve as the IBP Governor for Central Luzon.

In response to President Setias-Reyes’s call for the Board of Governors to voluntarily establish the Peace Committee in the IBP, the committee members pledged to strive to make peace a reality in the Philippines through supporting HWPL’s peace proposal: the International Convention on the Renunciation and Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts. They affirmed their solidarity in instilling hopes for those in need of peace through their expertise.

As the only means to bring peace to the world, HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee has suggested such a Convention and founded the HWPL International Law Peace Committee, consisting of international law scholars and professionals.

“If each nation’s head and leaders desire for world peace and love their people, they must work for the establishment of the right framework for the international convention on peace. For future justice in the Philippines and the rest of the world, all the honorable officers who are here with me today are forming that framework on behalf of all people. We have to urge the nations to participate in supporting the International Convention which can promote peace,” said Chairman Man Hee Lee.

Chairwoman Kim also called on the officers present, especially women leaders to actively work for peace by saying “Numerous international agreements and principles for peace have been drawn up and ratified until today. However, war and civil unrest have not stopped in this world. We, the women, have the responsibility to protect our husbands, children, and our neighbors.”

Since IBP faces unique challenges inland, it continues to provide free legal services to citizens of the Philippines as one of main objectives of IBP. Just last month, IBP vowed to help and give legal assistance to the lumad (Indigenous People) evacuees.

At the same time as the formation of the IBP Peace Committee, the Monument to the Declaration of World Peace was erected and an HWPL day was designated in the MILF base camp in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao Province. This location was once a hot-spot during 40-years of armed conflict between MILF and the government of the Philippines.  The region now serves as a reminder to the real costs of armed conflicts and the need for transformation from a culture of violence to a culture of peace.

Man Hee Lee, Practical Approach Towards Resolution of Conflict

Practical Approach Towards Resolution of Conflict – Man Hee Lee of HWPL

The Intractable IsraeliPalestinian Conflict Finds a Practical Approach Towards Resolution

Palestine – President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine met with Mr. Man Hee Lee, Chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) on 4 December to discuss Chairman Lee’s proposal on the International Convention on the Renunciation and Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts. The meeting between the two leaders was also to discuss the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, referred as the world’s ‘most intractable conflict’, which needs a precise but immediate resolution.

Having studied law at the University of Damascus, President Abbas strongly agreed with the urgent need of implementing the Convention, HWPL’s core peace initiative and the steps being taken to overcome the deficits of current international peace laws. Chairman Man Hee Lee, a Korean War Veteran and peace advocate, has tirelessly pursued the work of peace ever since he experienced the atrocities youths experience and see while in the midst of war. He vowed to bring an end to military conscription and pointless conflict through the International Convention that requires governing bodies worldwide to provide practical and sustainable solutions to peace.

Chairman Man Hee Lee said at the meeting that “without the implementation of an International Convention on the Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts, world peace would remain a remote goal. Because law itself acts as watchman, no one can easily perpetuate violence and cause conflicts once the International Convention is set in stone.” Pleasantly surprised by the efforts and vision of Chairman Lee, President Abbas shared his experiences and presented the ways in which he will begin supporting HWPL’s peace campaigns.
Ms. Vera Baboun, the first elected female mayor of Bethlehem also met Chairman Lee with Ms. Nam Hee Kim, Chairwoman of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG). Serving as a chairperson of the Board of Directors for Guidance and Training Center for Family and Children, as well as a gender studies researcher, Mayor Baboun was especially inspired and motivated by Chairwoman Kim’s dedication in empowering women in every sector of society through the IWPG Network. IWPG works in supporting women’s peace activities worldwide including conducting various volunteer services and providing academic education.

Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim said, “the implementation of the Convention will bring forth world peace when women of the world unite as one with the heart of a mother and urge for it. We, women, are the start of world peace.” Mayor Baboun asked the two chairpersons to join and deliver keynote speeches at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Bethlehem’s Manger Square. Last year many renowned leaders, including Pope Francis, attended this ceremony.

Chairman Man Hee Lee and his delegation will be travelling to Albania and Kosovo to continue their journey of peace.

UK Women and Youth support Int’l Convention
on Cessation of War

Man Hee Lee, peace, HWPL

London, UK – On 13 November 2015, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) hosted the ‘IWPG Peace Forum’ to urge the implementation of the International Convention on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace at Clothworkers’ Hall in London. The Forum mainly discussed the role of women in the implementation of the International Convention and was attended by numerous women leaders.

“Only when we become one in heart and gather our efforts to urge for peace, we can do so much more than we do separately,” said Ms. Nam Hee Kim, Chairwoman of the IWPG. She underlined the integral role youth and women play in achieving peace. “When we raise active awareness on how crucial the implementation of the Convention on the Cessation of Wars is, this initiative will be unstoppable by any forms of authority or wealth. Let us all become messengers of peace and speak up for the implementation of the Convention in one voice.”

The IWPG Peace Forum was followed by a Media Conference where journalists from well-known media organizations, such as BBC Arabic and Arab Telegraph, attended. The conference provided an opportunity to explore peace campaigns and projects that Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) and the IWPG have initiated. Six journalists and four women leaders were appointed as HWPL Publicity Ambassadors, pledging to accurately and widely report on the work of peace.

On 15 November 2015, at the University of Oxford, HWPL Chairman, Mr. Man Hee Lee delivered a closing speech at the Model United Nations (MUN) conference, underling the significant role youth of this generation can play. “If we wish to permanently end all wars and armed conflicts, youth and woman should act as watchmen of each state, overseeing the progress of the International Convention on the Cessation of War to ensure global peace.” This year’s Oxford International MUN was the largest and most prestigious conference where key world issues were discussed and participants could listen to illustrious guest speakers from across the globe.

Having encountered the harsh realities of war crimes against youth first hand, Chairman Lee strongly appealed to the audience and all individuals – “Even before their precious lives fully blossom and receive proper education, should youth ever be forcibly taken away from their mothers and be trained and used as tools to satisfy the greed of others? We must compensate for the lives lost in the midst of all conflicts by providing access to education, especially regarding various peace initiatives to those who are still forced to carry out non-peaceful activities in the world.”

Prior to the events above, Chairman ManHeeLee and the HWPL Peace Delegation met with HWPL International Law Peace Committee members and renowned international law scholars to discuss the 2nd draft of the International Convention on the Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts, the core initiative of HWPL.

HWPL has played a decisive role in ending numerous civil conflicts by Peace Agreements. The organization hosted the 1st Annual Commemoration of the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit in September 2015, which provided a platform to present the 1st draft of the Convention on the Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts through its International Law Peace Committee.
